Social media is an evolving and expanding tool in the world of technology and communication. Social media can efficiently communicate important messages to the public if used properly. I included samples of posts from social media accounts I managed that I developed content for.
Golden Buddha Chinese Restaurant
On Facebook and Twitter, Golden Buddha Chinese Restaurant featured photos of their most popular and new dishes. The photos I decided to share on social media were contingent to current events, such as holidays and seasons.
A typical Facebook post would receive about 2-3 likes and reaches an average of over 100 people on Facebook. While Golden Buddha's audience on Twitter was significantly smaller compared to Facebook, Twitter did provide a channel for quick, simple communication for customers. Along with liking comments and posts, I attempted to engage with customers and respond to comments.
Unfortunately, the restaurant closed on September 28, 2017. I shared our final social media post the following day. While the sole purpose of the post was to announce the closure, I wanted to express the owners' gratitude toward the community. The post received a large response. The most was shared 34 times and received over 120 reactions on Facebook. The Facebook account officially closed one month after the restaurant's closing.

The 2016-2017 executive board of PRSSA at LSU made a goal to focus on membership. To promote membership with PRSSA at LSU, I reached out to various members for testimonials to share on social media.
I created the testimonial grapic using canva.com. I shared the testimonials on social media, which received positive feedback from students. This testimonial received the most engagement. The post was shared multiple times, received 7 likes and reached nearly Facebook users. |
