I began my role as digital media director for PRSSA at LSU for the 2016-2017 academic year. I maintained and updated the website for PRSSA at LSU and created social media posts for Facebook and Twitter. As digital media director, I created a small social media campaign in an effort to increase membership. My social media posts included testimonials from members of the organizations that encouraged prospective students to join.

Independent Work Description: After the Fall 2016 semester, I wanted to provide current members an update about the LSU chapter of PRSSA with a graphic. I also wanted to share this graphic for recruiting potential members. I used Canva.com to make the graphic. By January of 2017, PRSSA at LSU had 26 active members. The chapter also hosted five guest speakers. At the end of the academic year, the chapter grew by 10 members. I primarily shared the graphic on the organization’s Facebook and Twitter pages. |

Collaborative Work Description: As Digital Media Director, I was responsible for maintaining and creating content for the Facebook and Twitter pages. My goal was to utilize the platforms to encourage potential members to join PRSSA at LSU and provide updates about the organization. I created a series of posts titled “Why you should join PRSSA.” I asked current and new members to share why they decided to join PRSSA and created graphics from their responses. I shared these graphics on Facebook and Twitter. I also aimed to post on Facebook and Twitter regularly to create consistency in the organization’s online presence. |
