When I began my internship with the Environment and Health Council of Louisiana, one of my first priorities was to redesign the logo. The previous logo was hard to read in different formats. I created sample logos that were easy to read in color and black and white for the Council to review. I also updated and redesigned the website for the organization to contribute to the overall online presence of the Council.

Independent Work Description: The previous logo for the E&HCL was very difficult to read, especially on mobile devices. When the logo was printed in black in white, the logo became indecipherable. One of my goals for developing the Council’s online presence was to redesign the logo. I created three logos for the Council to review. I used Adobe Photoshop to design the logos. When I initially met with the Council, the board members wanted to keep specific components from the original logo. The new logo needed to include the state of Louisiana and clearly spell out E&HCL. The logo on the bottom left corner is the design the Council picked. This design was the most similar to the original logo and incorporated all of the Council’s requests. |
Website RedesignItem: Website
Independent Work Description: The previous website for the E&HCL was very outdated. The website contained old information and even had some misspellings. My goal was to create a modern website that provided current information about the Council and its events. I used Squarespace.com to make the website. The design of the website took about 2-3 weeks to complete. I used blue as the color for the navigation bar on the website because blue is the primary color for the Council. I also included pictures of nature and greenery to reemphasize the Council’s purpose of improving Louisiana’s environment. To view the website, visit www.ehcla.org.
